The practical knowledge I have gained through my involvement in SIBC has greatly added to my Notre Dame education and is sure to prove useful in the workplace. I have really enjoyed how in depth and expansive our projects are and have especially benefitted from the buy-side project that Toni and I, along with the rest of our team, will be traveling to San Diego to present for.

Joining SIBC was one of the best decisions I made this semester. The research and presentation skills I’ve gained by participating are invaluable. In particular, I’ve enjoyed focusing on emerging markets on the buy-side project and am thrilled to have the opportunity to travel with our killer group to San Diego next month!

The International Economic Exchange experience was my first real exposure to a professional case competition. It was an incredible experience for me to not only gain some basic investment knowledge, but also interact with students from Beijing’s Peking University and learn to work under a lot of pressure. Overall, it was a fantastic opportunity to step inside the world of international business.

Presenting to Bain my first semester with the SIBC has to be my favorite SIBC experience.  I got to debate and discuss interesting business problems with incredibly smart and engaged people.

SIBC has provided me with an opportunity to make a positive impact in the community while applying the concepts I learn in class. I get to have fun with an amazing group of people and make a difference while I am at it.

The best part about leading an SIBC project is being able to work with the different students that join my project. I get to meet people I would otherwise not get the chance to interact with, not just business students but engineers and political science majors as well.

Last summer, I had a great time working as an intern in the Notre Dame Asia Office in Beijing, thanks to SIBC. I met a lot of wonderful people including ND alumni and students. Most importanly, I got hands-on marketing experience and also had much flexibility when working on creative projects. It was definitely a meaningful and worthwhile summer.

Working closely with the company representative and sharing my past SIBC project experience with the team made it a rewarding experience to lead the HealthScape project.

SIBC has provided me the opportunity to interact directly with some of the most prestigious companies in the world on real life business problems. The projects that I have worked on have given me unique hands-on experience that can easily be applied in interviews and internships, and have helped me realize and and cultivate my interests within business.

Having joined SIBC as a freshman, I would strongly recommend that students join the Council as soon as possible. At first I was only involved in Finance projects but now, in my sophomore year, I am trying out projects in the Consulting division. SIBC has helped me pinpoint what area of business I am most passionate about.

My favorite part about SIBC is the diversity of opportunities it offers. From visiting Google Chicago to competing in San Diego, SIBC has offered me opportunities to grow academically and personally.
